Printed Matter's LA ART BOOK FAIR 2015 February 03 2015, 0 Comments
What an amazing journey this year has already been. From wandering through different dimensions of snow in Sedona earlier this month on psychedelics, to scouring slums in the Philippines to create images with strangers who are now friends in the middle of the month, to exhibiting at the 2015 LA ART BOOK FAIR at MOCA- it's been a dream.
Finally have a bit of breathing room to collect a few thoughts and whittle them down into sentences here and all I can think of are thank you's- thank you to you and everyone reading for the greatly cherished support and interest in my work. Every day is such a blessing to be able to push forward and continue creating new works, and while it's impossible to create something without some silver sliver of ego, I'm blessed to know that every part of myself that I put into my work is being taken as the wind picks up stray strands of leaf- tossing them in a trajectory unknown and unseen but always right and where they should be.
Exhibiting at the LA ART BOOK FAIR was an honor, especially to be surrounded by such great work from my peers in the Focus:Photography section curated by Shannon Michael Cane and Jordan Nassar with MACK Books, trolley books, Archive of Modern Conflict, Self Publish Be Happy, Little Big Man, Art Paper Editions, Mörel Books, Super Labo, J&L Books, Aperture, Dashwood Books, TBW Books, The Ice Plant, Capricious and many more- it was amazing. The fair couldn't have been better, with all the artist proofs of SEA and ROME ALONE having sold out, along with the special edition 1000 MILES book and personalized SSK PRESS found photo albums selling out as well. In addition to that, all the copies made available of my new book LABYRINTH sold out too. Only a few left from the edition, the copies we saved will be made available online to international and domestic customers in the coming days on SSK PRESS with the remainder being sent to our stockists around the world.
Thank you so much for providing the road to this amazing journey and may each creation serve as a candle to light the way to the next.
